Innovation doesn't work top-down
Marguerite Roth
I used to be a born fan of top-down approach. I never could wrap my head around small things if I couldn't figure about the existence and why of things. And that's okay while you're learning but innovation can't be done this way you need to solve a lot of small puzzles to figure out how to solve the larger one or even knowing which one to solve.
Just observe any system deeply enough and you'll find problems in it. Start solving one of those, the most feasible one, until you get better, keep correcting your course and one day you'll make something that would be truly transforming for the users of the system but if you approach the system and think what shall I innovate to drive growth then probably you're not on the most effective path.
